Relative to the beer.........over 18 days we hiked the Coast to Coast path across northern England in 2013. The route is from St Bees on the Irish Sea 192 miles to Robin Hoods Bay on the North Sea. Stellar hike and met wonderful people. Too many to count. But the beer.....so as we hiked through the Lake District every night when we showered and hit the pub.....all the beer was tepid. My American palate kept saying WTF!! They always had some "imported" bottles in the frig so I always ordered those. So one day we passed out of the Lake District into Yorkshire and after crossing the Pennine Way we stayed in an Inn called the Keld Lodge as I recall. I walked in, dropped my pack, stepped up to the bar and asked the barkeep for "whatever is cold" having learned that in the Lake District. He smiled at me and said "mate you're in Yorkshire now......it's all cold". I felt right at home..........
