Yep. We took in the Newseum, in DC, when it was open. They had an interactive exhibit of a lunch counter, at which you would sit, don headphones, and place your hands on the counter. It simulated the training they undertook. Even though I knew I was in no danger, it was a startling experience to hear the invective hurled at you, with the seat being "slammed" from behind.

Very cool. They also self organized training sessions in Ohio's Antioch College before sending volunteers into hostile southern territory to help people register to vote. That generation really did some selfless things in 1964. Then they reverted to human normal.
