This is dangerously naive. The proud boys are both volunteering as poll workers and mustering as unofficial monitors. Their goal is to ‘protect’ ballot boxes by interrogating voters, checking their credentials and (mostly by intimidation) making sure the wrong votes never get cast. They remember the ability of their well armed forefathers, with the tacit support of law enforcement, to prevent black votes for 80 years despite lacking a clear numerical advantage. An accurate cartoon would show the proud boys aggressively interrogating the woman and her dog, unless she was clearly a Trumper, while an oathbreaker elected county sheriff looked on.

I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of violence at the polls in 2020, but I think we'll see the ops tempo on this kind of thing rising.... except of course, in the presence of a red wave. In 2020 I provided voter transport, planning to do the same again plus some people I know are going to take strong protective measures.

That only works when the cops and the courts are not on the side of the MAGAcoupers, which is somewhat of an iffy prospect here. In most red states, they'd laugh. We will have cameras but also plan to do a little better than that.
