To me it’s silly that leos open carry into restaurants or whatever. They would be better off just holding it in their hand or leaving it in the car.
So, Law Enforcement Officers should either walk in with their gun in hand or leave the gun in the car?

Would they be allowed to holster the gun in order to pay the cashier for their coffee or just put it down on the counter...

Just because a gun is in an open carry holster doesn't mean any kook can just pluck it out, willy nilly... 1, 2 and 3+ stage retention and all.

There are a lot of rather fancy open-carry holsters that don't look like much, but it is almost impossible for a stranger to just grab the gun out of it. Much more secure than the old fashioned leather with a strap-n-snap.

I have stood next to cops and could easily disarm them that’s all. If I was left handed even better. Now if they all use tricky holsters that’s better of course. They better practice a lot cause it’s kind of useless if you can’t get your weapon out before you get shot.

Have you ever pulled a gun from a holster on your hip with 2 stage retention?

Just because you can't see the retention bits, doesn't mean they aren't there.

Go ahead though, try to disarm a cop standing next to you.

My son is a cop - quick draw was not part of their training because it is not really a factor in weapons situations.

If it was they'd have their holsters velcro'd to the thigh like American tough guys with gunslinger fantasies.
