Chicago library on State Street? My youngest daughter lived on the 7th floor diagonally across the street for 2 years, interesting view with the sculptures looking in your window.

That whole ornamentation was modeled in my shop. Parts of it were indeed made in my shop. Most of it was made by a welding/fabrication shop the town over. I still have that verdis gris green paint on so many of my tools.....
My best friend, and room mate, and apprentice got a job to work for the designer/sculptor, who also happens to be a long time friend of my parents.
My friend now is the head design consultant/head construction manager, or something like that of the studio.
That owl was redesigned at least 20 times over the course of a year to make it the way it is.
Some of the pictures of that library that are on the web are actually pictures of the models that were taken at my shop in North Guilford, CT. Look for pure blue sky, or blue sky and clouds, with no buildings in the background.
