Sad last leg for the Italians, with a perfect LR until that damn last wind shift gave the Kiwis the lead. Until then LR totally outsailed a faster ETNZ, pure match racing 2.0, never seen before in this class of boats. But the winner is ETNZ, so kudos to them. Match point now. Go Luna
A classy response considering the stress you must be under my friend.

LR gained on a big lefty in the middle of the beat and the weather forecast called for the breeze to go left throughout the day, so totally understandable why they'd go that way, especially without the benefit of getting to look at the course from a helicopter.

Turned out to be the wrong call and the breeze oscillated back right. Tough break.

I don't think the Italians had a choice but do what they did. TNZ really applied the pressure and got the little break they needed to sail away.

Just look at the margin at each mark. Really close race.

Never give a kiwi a chance to find a shift, they will mine it like a seam of gold.

And boy did they put the hammer down on that last leg.

LR did great with their tactics, until that unfortunate wind shift in leg 5.

FB and JS better at match racing I think than PB?
