Earth doesn't stand still when 40' foiler foils.

Did anybody think that version 9 or 10 of a known platform wouldn't work?

It looks like an RC boat!

Foiling and no sail handling makes it as exciting as watching golf.

At least SailGP has humans in control that have to change sides!
Lets be honest, once this autopilot/ dual helmsmen set up becomes the norm, SailGP will be doing it too.

She better be, they were going backward at a very slow speed when it flipped over.
Although early days, they look to be way more robust than the F50s, which when they go over, usually involves extensive damage to the fragile wing.
The AC40 would make a great GP boat. Likely half the number of shipping containers, and a much quicker assembly time, so thus far cheaper running costs. I can't see why they wouldn't make great fleet racers either.

Certainly will be interesting to see if an AC40 circuit becomes the norm in the future, especially if the Youth and Womens AC's get a lot of interest, and how it stacks up, versus SailGP.

It is scary to think about these AC40s in a nine boat SailGP race.

The extension of those foils off the sides of the boat could cause some carnage! We have seen the F50s hulls crashing together, that would put the foil at least halfway across the deck of the other boat.
