Seeing as the boats are now hamster powered hydraulics, and there really isn’t all that much about sailing any more, I’m here for the crashes that cause death.
Not if, but when it happens I don’t want to see any tears from any kiwis, especially if it’s a kiwi that dies.
Kiwis are supposed to be tough cunts, it’s only flesh wound, so toss the victim into the water to feed the sharks and grab another guy off a bike race team.

edit: am sure the AC40s will be a bigger and bigger part of the cycle starting soon and they will look good.

It does crack me up how tender people can be. On “Sailing Anarchy” no less. I’m not quite sure how breathless hype in the face of clearly contradicting facts is any less “shitposty” than pointing out those obvious contradictions in actual photos and videos with humorous hyperbole. I’ve been doing it for many years now. Harming precisely no one.

Given these enormous wings (the 'head loppers' as SD has nicknamed them) and given the now-two pretty spectacular wipeout crashes already, I do think safety is an issue the organizers need to consider despite there being nobody hurt so far. I have suggested it for the F50s too, that some kind of AP obstacle-avoidance intelligence be installed.

I know. But the underlying issue for that is that these boats just aren’t controllable without that AP. Period. Not even by the best in the world.
And, therefore, that AP is at the heart of the one design aspect of the AC40 (not any of the other features of the boat). And, therefore, it’s truly a joke of a boat…on every level. If anyone is going to buy anything here, it’s the AP tech itself because it’s clearly doing a great job covering up the deep, inherent flaws of the turd it’s installed on.
Add to that JAL’s point above from a QA and marketing perspective - and you’ve got a fully involved fire in this dumpster full of BS.

To us, shitposting is the forum version of that - the primary purpose is to derail a conversation. (See, e.g. Russian agitprop posters on any social media post on the Russian invasion). It makes civilized conversation impossible.
