Don't knwo how true this is but I heard this week that most if not all the westerners are currently being corralled in the safe areas around Qurum etc. due to concern about the Sultans ill health (currently in hospital in Europe) and what's going down in Syria.

Considering the Sultain came to power when his old Sandhurst mates in the SAS flew in, shot the old fella in the foot and evac'ed him to a comfortable life in a South London private hospital it sound like there could be interesting times ahead

No it wasn't - it was during the dicussion about where (and when) the AC45fs would be coming from.

Conversions or new builds, if conversions - then done by whom, how many convertable AC45s were still in existance from the original 15, who had them, etc, etc.

Another one of those un-attributed but very definitive, 'look at me, I'm an insider' kinda claims we get here so often.

February 27-28 2016: ACWS Muscat, Oman

June 10-12 2016: ACWS Chicago, United States

July 21-24 2016: ACWS Portsmouth, Great Britain

The ACEA (America's Cup Event Authority) who is running these Events aiming for 6 ACWS Regattas in 2016, 3 of them are now confirmed.
