I remember the great quote from the great movie 'Contact.'
  • Panel member: If you were to meet these Vegans, and were permitted only one question to ask of them, what would it be?
  • Ellie Arroway: Well, I suppose it would be, how did you do it? How did you evolve, how did you survive this technological adolescence without destroying yourself?
So there might be a tiny (in geological terms) window between a technological species evolving, and killing itself off. For aliens to arrive here during that tiny window strains credulity.

Yes. Have to assume any critter that develops technology will have to be inherently curious.

Circling back to what I was talking about, it is more likely our oxy/nitro planet is typical than exceptional, and it took millions of years for a critter capable of developing technology came about, so most of the planets like ours one will not find "civilization". To stumble on one that does...and has JUST managed it? Priceless.
600 million years I think... from the oxygen explosion. mind boggling doesn't describe it. I think I need peyote.

A couple of years ago, morning news had an interview with a Navy pilot and OS chief discussing a series of UAP incidents over the Pacific. What was interesting is the concurrence of all sensors... not just the pilot seeing "something" but radar and various other fancy systems tracking the same objects.

Doesn't prove it's aliens, but as those guys said "if this is another Earth country's military, they have capabilities we will not be able to touch for decades, if ever."

As noted, it's a big universe and it's easily possible this is some natural phenomenon we've never noticed before and thus no explanation.

Yes. That was leaked and then people commented on it since it was out anyway. I think that is one of the steps I am talking about that represent a change in the US that is taking place deliberately. There are some people within the intelligence community who are trying to do, I don't know, something. Soften us up for a bigger announcement, maybe. Or just de-stigmatize the whole alien sighting thing so that people won't be afraid to talk about weird shit they see. I see the whole thing with the article I posted as a progression of whatever this process is. Wherever it is ultimately going, it just got one step closer due to this whistleblower thing.

So…….all of the governments in the world conspire or separately decide to keep “secrets” related to not just sightings but possession of actual spacecraft and aliens. These secrets are successfully kept for decades or longer despite the number of people involved

…….and they do this because………?

OK so my initial reaction is that I really don't want to watch this because I don't even want to know how stupid "Ancient Apocalypse" is.
I posted it for the benefit of the many millions of idiots gullible enough to fall for 50 years of hoaxes that began with Chariots of the Gods, ran through Ancient Aliens, and rehashed it all with unscrupulous TV networks with Ancient Apocalypse. They are woefully bad theories, the kind of thing that attracts Ayn Rand fans, of which we have a handful here.

Dr. Milo debunks them carefully and in a way understandable to non-scientists.
