I don't think Alinghi is representing a Swiss club in the Americas Cup, the Swiss do not have an annual ocean race.
I think he was Italian last time, if so Spithill will be eligible/

Only the club has to have an annual regatta on a branch of the ocean, not the country doesn't it?. Which may explain why the Swiss Ocean Racing Club now exists, with a programme that appears to include a regatta, though there are no details.
