AM had a good set of designers.  You put soon to be announced AM helmsman Slingsby on Patriot and the removal of TH as a grinder and I suspect you have a different outcome for AM.

AM making it to the Start Line of AC37 is doubtful. If Rumors are true that Ernesto has hired not only Simmer and Holroyd but also Botin & Arrivabene this will be a full blown out disaster for potential American Challengers.

And Tom Slingsby won't be sailing on any of the AC37 Challengers. He was very, very critical of the AC75 Monohulls. He didn't like these Boats, that's why he choose SailGP!

If Burling/Tuke indeed did not resign with ETNZ I can assure you that Grant Dalton will do everything in his Power to prevent these two guys from sailing for another AC Challenger.

That happened actually after the 2003 AC which Alinghi won. Ernesto & Russell were in a Major Spat about the Venue. Ernesto wanted Valencia, Russell wanted Cascais. Coutts quit Alinghi because of that but Bertarelli amended the Protocol and put a clause into it preventing Coutts to be hired by another AC Challenger until the 2007 AC was over.

I could see a similar scenario happening here!

No, not a dog walker myself, but I think it says something about a friendly foreign country. Otherwise Dennis Conner would not have needed to loose the cup first for the NYYC, before he could challenge for the San Diego YC.

The Rambler 88 crew were particularly on best behavior as sailing with them today was Alinghi Team Principal, Ernesto Bertarelli, with whom many, including Butterworth, won and then defended the America's Cup in 2003 and 2007.
