Dalton has achieved what very few people in the world have achieved. He has the loyalty of his team, his sponsors and his supporters. He brought a team from the brink of collapse, to being the most dominant AC team in the last 40 years. For that, he deserves EVERYONES respect.

Reaching a new audience is a noble aim. To compare what is planned to DtS is beyond dreaming.

One has an activity most can understand, 20 odd muliti day events every year. Races that, unless there is torrential rain, start on time. One driver that is the face of the team to love, hate or not care about.

The other. One month of racing every 4 years in a sport most sailors don't really understand any more. Delayed because the wind is a bit light. Or a bit strong.

Never going to find a new audience, let alone among the younger crowd. Can you imagine a 20 year old talking to his mate -

Hey Fred, found this great new program on some sport, you need to watch it.

Great, when's the next race?

Oh not for three years.

Unless it was rape, and I'm sure it wasn't, then the speculation about who-f'd-who seems out of bounds even if it may have been a 'misjudgement.' That GD has a youngster now may relate to the same lady but while a touch curious am sure as heck not going to do research into any of that :)  Privacy should be allowed, to the degree the parties want.
