Yes, it would be a good choice, Aquarium on one side and a prestigious yacht club on the other
Better atmosphere than a shipyard.

American Magic?Would another team want to sell its design package to Alinghi? Doubt it.
No bobstay fitted, maybe they are planning on removing the bowsprit in short order! (currently being used as a go pro mount 😂)
Yes, time will tell. Sounds from the article that teams will get much more detailed info than what will be shared publicly, for whatever reason. Maybe they want us to see only slick 'produced' video.Thank goodness for all this shared nothing to hide media it’s really allowing a true insight As to the exact blue that they used to paint the boat and to the AM foils they have..
unless there was a change in the protocol, 24.2(f) ..... if a New Competitor purchases a Version 1 AC75 Yacht, such New Competitor will be entitled to sail that Version 1 AC75 Yacht for a maximum of 20 Sailing Days between 12 June 2022 and 17 September 2022 subject to the provisions of the AC Technical Regulations.Too lazy to look up the details but there is a period during which new teams (Alinghi) can sail an AC75 V1 for just 20-days, before other teams so as to give the new teams some advantage. Is there any restriction for sailing V1's after that end-date, or do they then revert to what everyone else is subject to? Alinghi must be close to running out of days if there is a hard end.
Thanks for the dates. Which reminds me, I have the original Nov 15 Prot saved and am happy to post it if anyone wants to compare it to the one posted recently - maybe there's a simple 'diff' tool that can do it automagically.Have they left the dock yet or are they still just testing the systems?
that have towed. Were out there the other day.unless there was a change in the protocol, 24.2(f) ..... if a New Competitor purchases a Version 1 AC75 Yacht, such New Competitor will be entitled to sail that Version 1 AC75 Yacht for a maximum of 20 Sailing Days between 12 June 2022 and 17 September 2022 subject to the provisions of the AC Technical Regulations.
Definitions: "Sailing Day" means a day on which a competitor's AC75 Yacht is launched and sailed or towed.

Nothing I can find. Maybe they are doing a big retrofit.Any video yet??
What specifically makes you think they are doing a big refit? You don't spend months prepping and painting, etc.. to splash the boat for a day and then mod it.Nothing I can find. Maybe they are doing a big retrofit.
I think it was painted in NZ, seems like Alinghi just unwrapped it and put it together. Any chance that was all TNZ crew and was part of their purchase agreement? Deliver the completed boat? What specifically makes you think they are doing a big refit? You don't spend months prepping and painting, etc.. to splash the boat for a day and then mod it.
A big refit after one tow session doesn't make sense- given the narrow time they are allowed to sail, and the limitation on the number of days.
While I could imagine wanting to establish a before baseline, surely they would have gotten some data from ETNZ as part of the purchase. Even then... I would mod the boat and use that as a baseline for all the following iterations as they dial in the prediction to real life calibration process.
