This guys are so far behind! The AC40 should help them to learn how to sail these boats.
Especially once they learn to pronounce 'cant' correctly :)

Was interesting how when asked he almost laughingly dismissed the notion they would 2-boat test their new AC40 against their AC75, said they'd more likely sail one boat at a time, and suggested the AC40 will be primarily to up-train sailors for the WAC and YAC. He may not know that Grand Plan but it's possible Alinghi will sail their gradually upgraded AC75 for a while to come.

I could see Alinghi running their AC75 for a good while longer. For one reason, it's an opportunity to install cyclor stations and get that part of the crew up to speed in conditioning and for any role-playing. Secondly, they have the operation already in full swing right there in Barcelona.

Rewatched this latest Alinghi vid, they seem to be turning the corner. 64 nm miles sailed, a whole bunch of tacks and gybes with many of them clean, looking good finally. Those numbers are all records for them.

The recon reports read like PR/advertising pieces most times and in this one they suggested Alinghi is all excited about the AC40 arrival; but my guess is that Alinghi will concentrate on Zero for a good while longer, they are getting into a groove now.

Alinghi have received their second AC40..
Won't be long before we see two 40s blasting around Barcelona.
That seems very late according the our original production estimates and that AM expects to be sailing their AC40’s in March

1- July 14th
2- Aug 19th
3- Sep 23th
4- Oct 28th
5- Nov 2nd
6- Jan 6th
7- Feb 10th
8- Mar 17th
9- Apr 21st
10- May 26th … etc

with:

Hull 1 - TNZ
Hull 2 - Ineos
Hull 3 - TNZ
Hull 4 - Alinghi
Hull 5 - Alinghi
Hull 6 - LR
Hull 7 - American Magic
Hull 8 - American Magic
Hull 9 - I have heard this is for a Spanish Youth and Women's team. If there is a 10th Hull, then the Spanish are getting two - one for the youth and one for the women's team.

So are LR sitting on a 40 also, like Ineos?

Good question. My guess is that the LR AC40-6 will arrive soon.

Alinghi looks to be space confined for now while the new base gets developed, next to the IMAX building.

Ineos too in Palma. Can't see them 2-boating any time soon.

LR has 'boatloads' of spare space on that dock (Ichnusa or somesuch?) in Cagliari. Could see WAC and YAC joining that party beginning soon.

Space could be also be a factor in AM's decision to decommission Patriot this soon, they have two coming in presumably to Pensacola. Only one tent, best I can tell.

^ Silvio makes it clear Alinghi's focus will be moving to the AC40s. AM has made that course change too, am guessing Alinghi will soon be done with sailing BZ.
