Bertarelli already stated during the lead up to AC36 that a nationality rule wouldn´t be a problem for them. 

He said that the swiss sailing had gone a long way from the days when Alinghi first challenged for the AC and that now there are enough swiss sailors to form a national AC sailing team.

I think he underestimates the importance of time spent in combat in the AC75s and the next closest thing is the GP50s and no swiss sailors have been involved in either of those classes.  The GC32 is next after that and Allingi had a reasonably succesful GC 32 team which included a swiss podium finisher from the Moth worlds back in 2009.  The other two team members are French.  I think they would have a lot of wokr to do to field a competitive all swiss team.   But swiss taxation is attractive for any sailor wanting to relocate

I agree that things have greatly improved since the year 2002 when hired the best in the world. Swiss talent I’m sure is at a high standard, but would it be ranked best in the world ?

They've been fairly dominant in the ESS, as well as the GC32 Racing tour. They've also designed and built their own foiler, so clearly they're doing something right.

The best sailing crew in the world is largely irrelevant if you build a slow boat. INEOS Team UK proved that.

INEOS Team UK did not have the best Sailing Squad. That was your own Team IMO!

Considering their history I don’t expect them to have a slow boat. They have a good design history, their only failure was the DOG match where Oracles winged sail was the decisive difference.

Yes, his sailing team has been Swiss for some years now. And he already has a design team, the creators of the TF35 class. People with long AC experience.

The after-guard on TF 35 are 2X French and 1 x Swiss but I dont think Dalts would be able to tell then apart.

If the Allinghi sailors want to see how they stack up, they should really go to the GP50 circuit and throw their hat in the ring. There is the small matter of a 2 1/2 year law suit ......but if they put that behind them , then their training on the TF 35 would be relevant for the GP50....if they are competitive then I think it would show very quickly,

Really? What foiler is that? I hope you don't mean the new TF35, because that wasn't designed by Alinghi but by a group of ex Cup designers who came together for that project and who won a design competition to choose the best boat.

Ja i know, he's obviously never going to be mates with Lazza, and Russell jumped ship and dug the knife in (which is how he got him in the first place).

AND he's sort of tried with his own series too

BUT

sailGP is definitely the pinnacle of all this stuff and developing your own team.  Because Oracle throw so much money at teams to enable them to be there it would be sort of gratifying to be a part of this costly exercise just from that.

It's easy to identify and buy good sailors. Much trickier to identify the innovative engineers with whom one needs to buy.......and all the good foiling designers have been locked in by the other teams......

Ernesto is right, and it is now the right time to shop the designer, we don't know if TNZ has a budget now.
