Because the game is shit. it's laughably easy, there's really only one strategy, and there's no variability from game to game. No reason for it to take up space in my closet.

I have a 1995 vintage CD-ROM copy of the game of risk and it's an excellent way to kill a few hours. People stopped playing Risk with me after I built up a massive army in Greenland and stampeded around the board in one turn.

Edit: Monopoly is the most fun when you play the "i love you" card with your mother to trade for that 4th railroad and then drain her bank account in one trip around the board
