Another new 6 metre

Oh, for some reason I have not noticed this. Must got to check it out before it leaves Finland.

I have always thought that it would be interesting to build modern 5.5 or 6, but I fear that buying design would be too expensive. Needless to say that rig would be another issue.

Those new sixes all look like they were designed by Stephen Jones at the height of the IOR.

Actually, they make the worst IOR distortions look like the definition of fair.

often wondered about this, I am a big 8mr fan. i would love new boats in the class to push the envelope once again. Who would you have design a new cutting edge Meter yacht? since most of the races are now in relatively sheltered waters, design would call for good in light to moderate chop, and excell in 10-14kts of wind. for an 8, the Hollandia keel still seems the keel to beat, but any update there would be welcome. rig is aluminium, but could go for custom profile.

Hull looks like they plopped a canoe on top of a rowing shell.

E scows don’t go out if it’s blowing over 15 around these waters. The 5.5 I crew on eats it up in 12-18.
Wimps. And they need to learn how to de-power the E. It's no secret and is done all the time in the US (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan).

I was surprised when I heard it.Since it’s an unlimited class there must be multiple ways to depower it and still have great speed in a breeze. They can capsize spectacularly.
