Any way to watch the recorded olympic dinghy races?

You'd think it woudl be easily available but I can't find it anywhere. I saw that CBS or NBC had a thing where if you were a comcast subscriber, you could log in and watch the games live, but I don't qualify for that. I don't see anything up on youtube either.

Any help would be appreciated,

Jeff

You do have to log into NBC Sports with a username and password for one of the pay TV services to see their streaming video. I tried viewing a link without being logged in, it stopped me until I did.

There may be some open video from a non-US site, but I don't know of any.

google expat download and run it, then go to the BBC webpage and enjoy.

this was brought up in another thread by another person who i am too lazy to look up and thank for their contribution. It does work perfectly. The coverage is insanely partsan and may make you suddenly disslike the British sailors though.

Not generally true. In today's Laser medal race, they did focus on the AUS/CYP battle for Gold vs Silver. Not too much of Paul G.

More importantly, running Expat Shield and accessing the BBC Olympic site that way works 'brilliantly' (as they say over there).

http://www.expatshield.com/

Install it, then run it. It will load a video. Pause the video, THEN connect to the BBC Sports site and you can watch any content.

Only hassle is that it throws up irritating popup ads. So after you are done watching, you need to go into your "manage addons" and DISABLE "expat Shield". and then shut down your browser.

So why aren't the olympics free on the net? I would think advertisers would want a larger market rather than a smaller one. I have watched about 2 hours of the olympics because I don'y have pay tv

Presumably that's down to whoever in your country paid / bribed / is mates with the right people / otherwise made the most convincing case for the distribution rights. Conventional media doesn't seem to have figured out how to work in globalised fashion..

Or in one word: Protectionism.

I see lots of torrents for the London Olympics but none for sailing. Hopefully some will be forthcoming. I really treasure the Beijing sailing torrents, particularly the 49er medal race.

It appears that now the games are officially over, anyone can watch them on nbcolympics.com, even without an account.

Sailing a Finn sure looks like a workout......
