Sucker!Question? I upgraded to Paramount Plus to get rid of the adverts, but there are still 2 minute ads showing up?? They said to log out and back in, but every time I exit out to regular cable, I have to log back in and adverts still showing?
Little do I know of Paramount Plus but that sounds like an issue that could be solved by a teenager.Question? The underlying problem is that you’re old and nobody can fix that one, sad to say.
Sucker!
But you wrote that there were still adverts showing up after the "upgrade". https://forums.sailinganarchy.com/threads/anyone-watching-1883.240343/page-3#post-8187849If it only costs 5 bucks a month to remove multiple 120 second commercials, that's a worthy investment IMHO!!!

And nobody's opinion is humble.
Paramount+ Essential is $4.99 and has ads. Paramount+ Premium is $9.99 and is ad-free, except for some exceptions:

Pretty solid show. Apparently it's the prequel to Yellowstone. It's pretty gritty with lots of killing. I'm 2 episodes in, I think there are only 3 out right now. It's definitely worth checking out, one of the best shows I've seen latelyGot to the end......spoilers involved.
It was worth watching, much better than a lot of the crap that is shoveled out now.
It does hold your interest and has some nice scenery, both natural and human.
So that said.......
Apparently rattlesnakes are a HUGE problem.
Worst. Wagon. Train. Guides. Ever. Probably only the Donner Party did worse, at least only 95% of this bunch died instead of all of them. The Sam Elliot character seems to constantly move between "I am in charge, do what I say or die" and "You all are free, do what you want".
The little kid, John Dutton, seems to spend almost all his time hiding and gets very few lines. His parents hardly seem to know he exists and his sister totally ignores him. When she rides off to die, she doesn't even say goodbye to him. I don't have any idea if it is bad writing or the kid can't act so they gave him jobs like "hide in the wagon and don't talk"
Elsa Dutton, aka Isabel May, is the standout star of this series. Despite some issues to follow with the script, she has a great future ahead of her as a talented and very pretty actress.
Elsa behaves in ways that I do not think any girl her age not employed in a whorehouse could possibly get away with in the 19th century. As a narrator, she also seems quite unusually well spoken for a girl of that era. The backstory is her father was off at war and then POW camp and her sharecropper mother raised her by herself while working the farm. Given the southern states aversion to education for the poor white folk and lack of public education, it would be doing quite well if she could read at all.
Marrying a Comanche also probably was not the done thing for most teenage southern white girls to say the least. Then there is The Death Of Elsa, which has to set some record for longest death scene that spans 2 states and a couple of weeks
Time and geography issues:
As mentioned earlier, this seems a lot closer to 1873 than 1883. In real life they would have had to cross at least 2 or 3 railroad lines going north and by then there were fords and bridges. They even tell a cook they hire they will pay his train fare home youtube tv mod apk. So why not RIDE THE TRAIN THERE!!! WTF????????????????
Then Elsa is going to Oregon after getting married but her husband is not. She is going to return to him next spring, like a teenage girl can cross half the country by herself and survive. Maybe she too was going to buy a train ticket
Last is a timing issue. The 1923 series is 40 years past this one. Harrison Ford is playing the Dutton Patriarch. Presumably he is the little 5 year old kid grown up, but Ford sure as hell doesn't look like he is 45, more like 75+. Is he the Dutton father from this show? He would be around 80 if still alive? I need to check that out? Helen Mirren sounds very Irish, so she certainly is not the older version of the Faith Hill character.
Jellystone is just people shooting each other with no repercussions
American show?View attachment 564784
I haven't been near a laundry or a bath in forever and I wrangle cows all day. How doe my dress look?
you are rightAmerican show?
Somehow they can't bring themselves to blemish their heroines with greasy hair, boils, sweat stained pits, moles, casts in eyes and terrible teeth. Nor leave out the corn syrup.
It spoils many a potential historical drama, and all the other kinds too.
You obviously haven't met many Americans. We are all without flaws, and spectacularly well dressed. We never touch corn syrup.American show?

Two things more American than apple pie in film. You obviously haven't met many Americans. We are all without flaws, and spectacularly well dressed. We never touch corn syrup.
Isabel May is outstanding. Loved 1883, 1923 is growing on me, great cast, and Isabel is back with the narration. YS is the weakest, just IMO.I liked 1883 a lot but am not much of a YS fan. Agree with the improbable historical accuracy but personally, I would suspend belief to the point of flying monkeys to watch Isabel May tomboy around in that setting.
Sorta. I haven't seen a single ATV or side by side on the show. I guess they're the last holdouts who don't use them.Yellowstone is nowish
Ms. May will have a long career as an actress if she wants to, she has looks and talent. The narration is odd, sometimes she is a random person describing things and sometimes she is Helen Mirren's inner thoughtsIsabel May is outstanding.
