The cornerstone of Marxism is the idea of 'structural bias' against certain groups. In his day, he primarily focused on class structure in Germany. The basic concept is that all people need stuff and control of the means of production of that stuff defines social structures and who's in power. That's the 'structure'. Within that framework, individual desire or personal skill matters very little. You're just a cog you're lot in life is determined by being that cog.

From that cornerstone, lots and lots of -isms follow.

Broadly, what 'Cultural Marxism' implies is that control of social interactions, particularly through the media, but extending into language, thought, poetry, writing, science, everything... ultimately leads to control of people by the people who created the structure in the first place.

You can probably see where this crosses very easily into antisemitism. The truth is, I'm being very careful about how I phase all of this because the moderators of this site wouldn't be too happy if it was expressed in its true glory. So there is some truth there, like all things.

Nah, disagree. There is some validity to the anti-woke wave going on. I say some because I certainly don't agree with all. It's like everything else - a good idea taken to extremes will always create backlash. Granted the far right end of the backlash is a clown show. But there are a LOT of people in the middle who continually shake our heads at the wokeness going on - just like we did with the political correctness before that and the _________ before that.

If you guys didn't ALWAYS go so far overboard with your DEI, woke, tranny this, black that, etc - there wouldn't be such the backlash. In fact I would submit that there would be no maga and no trump at all if not for the fact that the left ALWAYS goes overboard on everything. There's a huge swath of 'Murica that is fed up with both sides of this debate and just want to be left the fuck alone and not have you guys ram your cultural shit down our throats 24/7/364.

Here's a hint (and I'm in a generous mood today so I'm giving away this one for free): If you want trump and MAGAts to fade into the dustbin of history - fix the fucking broken immigration system once and for all. And by "fix" I don't mean just give blanket amnesty to everyone who broke our laws and snuck into the country. But truly fix it so it works for everyone and meets the countries needs first. Do that ONE thing and you cut the legs off the far right. You remove at least 69% of their oxygen.

The broken immigration system absolutely needs to be fixed.
Attempts to fix it have had very slight bipartisan support, the majority of obstruction to reasonable improvements have been from Republicans. They need it to stay broken so they can blame Democrats and foment hatred against immigrants.
