We did some camping last week and the stargazing was pretty good. Mars seemed brighter than usual. Maybe just 'cause of the clear air and lack of other light?

We’re clear in New Orleans, they’re almost touching. Mars has a pink tint, but it’s hard to tell that because he’s so close to the bright half-Moon.

The Moon moves a little “slower” than the rest of the celestial bodies, so it might get “eaten” by Mars in the next few hours, before spitting it out the other side in the wee hours of the morning.
