The TP fleet in Auckland is going down the gurgler, too expensive to run (not enough multi millionaires who love yachting), too many crew needed... Glad to hear Sydney is going ahead, might get a few more kiwi boats over there.

There was a little meeting between about 9 TP owners at RSYS last night talking about doing that exact thing, Stay Tuned I may have some more info in a few hours.

Sounds like last night went pretty well, Owners are keen to have something going by summer and one rule that was highly discussed was a limit on Pro's to the dismay of an owner who is in charge of a certain sailing organisation

Think he means the Melges 32 which seems to for sale at a much reduced price.

However I see Ray is having quite a boat sale, the TP 52, the Peterson 50 and the Farr.

Jono, of course if you come to Qld you will get run out of the Lota Fishing and Fighting Club for that suggestion.

Interesting. That boat was listed as sale pending for a while. Except now it's 69 feet long with a shoddy stern scoop addition. 

Sorcha was always going to be to be painted white when it sold though, removing branding at sellers expense was in the listing.

Unsurprising.  Running a 52 with pros is well beyond the reach of most owners in the local scene where there really is an opportunity for a strong Pro/Am proposition.  I'd be nsurprised if the marine industry in Sydney wasn't wholeheartedly behind the Pro/Am idea... sails, rigging, refurbs, services aplenty
