Leave this here as this is going more to shit every day.

100k citizens stranded overseas and only a fraction look to make it home by Xmas. By then it will be 9 months for some trying unsuccessfully to get home, YET;

If you are an international tennis star looking to play in the Australian Open and other tournaments it looks like some special flight and quarantine arrangements will be made for you and your entourage.

Or how about rugby teams from Argentina, South Africa and the all mighty All Blacks all coming to play in November. Wonder how may of them are citizens of Australia?

It is as though ScoMo is begging to be fucked up the arse.

Yeah, they need to do something more to get people back. It doesn't help when states are dragging their feet leaving NSW carrying most of the load.

You know they have planes?
This. Today 20K empty seats per week

New airline passenger cap means just seven extra seats per flight

This is cap increase from 4k to 6k incoming per week that Qld won't have signed up to in full to until after election. ..So planes go from around 90% empty now to 88% empty in Nov
And

And places to put people?
Brisbane Sydney Adelaide and Perth. (Andrews closed Melbourne, excl Gold Coast) 89k rooms and occupancy around 20%. Say only 40K available/suitable that will quarantine 100k per month or 23k people per week at 1.25 per room in 14 day Q blocks or over 4 times existing CAP.

Even have their own police force to guard them.....
Some of the above already in use and currently maned by ADF & Police requiring less scale up. Feds have already offered additional ADF.

There is capacity to burn of over 100k per month incl existing CAP.

Cost is borne by those under quarantine. In fact cost to Govt is a fraction that charged. Airlines currently at 10% capacity make not lose money and risk of them pulling out as flagged disappears. Similiarly hotels make money and re-employ staff.

Those 100k stuck today could be returned in less than a month or alternatively over next 3 months to soften logistics.

So what's the holdup other than Govt shitfuckery ??

Where I went for my picnic today in locked down Melbourne  :)
So, Her Majesty's Prison Melbourne is tolerable enough for those who live in the right areas.

But like most dictatorial socialist paradises, there's little pity or concern for the peasants who live in less desirable circumstances

Melbourne
no, It's the old ANZAC hostel in north brighton. Kamesburgh.

It had fallen into disrepair so the state gov did a deal with Firbank. The school has the building to contain it's year 10's for next to nothing on the condition it repairs the building and maintains the gardens. The gardens are really beautuful, huge oak trees, rotunda ..but have to be open to the public. Not many people know about it. It's our secret picnic place. Always quiet even on a busy sunny lockdown afternoon :)

Edit

Bayside council acquired it from the DVA and lease it to Star of The Sea who have to maintain the building to heritage standards.

I see polls still show Andrews has a slight majority in support and this no doubt gives the fuckstick the fuel to ignore convention and not fall on his sword.

I wouldn't have a clue but I'm assuming Andrews has also had support in the mainstream media, if so helps shit like this unfold if not challenged. Though after his showing the other day they appear united in condemnation. Even Leigh Sales 7.30/Channel 2 appears to have come into line after ignoring the Inquiry to-date giving Andrews a free kick.

This is Jon Snow from ITV's Channel 4 in UK over 70 years old and doesn't take shit from politicians of any persuasion. He is a dying breed. BumFace Johnson has banned his Ministers appearing on Channel 4.

When was last time you saw something like this happen in Aust, maybe only Sales when in the mood?? This dickhead current UK Health Minister, this clip from last year.

A Meli Bump.

"No doubt you're one that interupts the project and wearies

"you really don't get analogy do you?"

"..be able to focus on the main task NOW!"

"We can deal with mistakes later."

I love analogies.

Meli in your analogy simply INSERT 'Brain Surgeon & Team' who unfortunately have kept the hospital morgue busy all day.

By your own words you're NOT "one that interupts the project and wearies the weary...main task NOW..mistakes for later" type man in fact.

You are their next and last patient for the day.

You find out about their days work of making the undertakers and florists day, so what do you do?

1. Do you continue and let them operate on you whereby you will discuss their days work AFTER your operation?

OR

2. Do you postpone and run out of there, doubtful to return?

OR

3. Do you sack them, walk out of there and call the police?

Chop chop now haven't got all day.

The lunacy continuous over those locked out of returning home.

What does the Government do? The other week it creates a Taskforce to lure international businesses and exceptional talent to Australia to support the COVID recovery.

You can't make this shit up.

New Taskforce to Create Jobs by Attracting Business and Talent to Australia
you really needed more evidence that undoing border closes, increasing the cap on returning australians and opening up for the australian economy is actually bullshit?

those arguing for these things while we have any community spread are doing so against public health.
