It was funny how Meli was talking up how great the Greek island she was going to and certainly implied she was just hanging there with her Greek friends. The reality is that she seems to spend more time elsewhere. Perhaps the Greeks got fed up with her?Why don't you just vote in the Greek, Balinese, Majorca elections or what ever other tourist trap you prefer to live in instead of Australia?
Maybe she just got bored with the goats (and men) on the island...It was funny how Meli was talking up how great the Greek island she was going to and certainly implied she was just hanging there with her Greek friends. Last time I looked, their predictions sucked.
https://greens.org.au/explainers/cprsThe Greens voted against the Rudd's carbon pollution reduction scheme, which as resulted in an extra 218 million additional tonnes of carbon pollution (as to 2019). Why do you vote for a party that is against reducing carbon emissions?
Like the "Carbon Capture and Storage" fiasco currently being touted.under the CPRS there would have been no reduction in emissions for 25 years. It gave billions in handouts to coal companies and big polluters
I suspect most Aussies don’t understand it.I really struggle to see the financial doom and gloom projections of moving from a non renewable resource (coal) to investing in tech that has a future.
We get trained people in new fields just as the world ramps up and massive investment will likely occur here. Australia has a great lineup of strong rule of law, wind, sun and well (generally) educated work force.
Plus as far as export $ coal is only 25% of our mining exports, we could even move the existing workforce to mining other minerals.
Sir, with all honesty I can say that is one of the worst thought out rebuttals I have ever heard. There was a time that London was covered in coal dust.
The average wage was only slightly higher than Panama.
sad but true
What you are really talking about here is energy storage and there are a plethora of grid scale options out there apart from lithium battery.Right?
they'll drown us in solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and batteries before anyone has the nerve to seriously put nuclear on the table.
But if you take fossils out, where other than nuclear are you otherwise going to get high yield, stable baseload power?
that we're entertaining nuclear subs gives some hope. maybe they're the thin edge of the wedge.
