Awesome, thanks. I’m only chasing a small quantity so importing not worth it for this job but i have only previous experience with Balsa,Ply and a small job using Divinycell so really have no idea what is readily available without going knocking on shipwrights doors here.
I’ll check availability & $’s. Thanks for the info.

From the PDF attached to the link:

“The keel is an extremely fine bulb configuration ensuring the lowest drag for the highest lift. It utilises a welded hi-tensile Bisalloy 80 steel sub-structure, sand blasted and zinc coated under an epoxy topcoat. Around this sub-structure are carbon fibre fairings. The fitment is a further improvement to the design concept pioneered by the Inglis range of yachts in that it extends up through the hull keel case as one piece and is pinned to the very robust main bulkhead s/s bracket just under the deck and fixed into the keelcase with 100mm Epirez epoxy resin. This prevents any localised stresses occurring and shares any loads or shock loads over the entire hull via the main transverse bulkhead and the supplementary mouldings, which are glassed in longitudinally along with two ring frames foreward. It has been designed with a three to one safety factor.”

Very cool. Also had never heard of the Float-Pac system before now.

I see Georgia Express Mumm 36 came up for sale. Looks like it has had a lot of love and upgrades.

As DELETED said....this boat was way, way, ahead of its time. Trackers (Gary Cameron) and Delanger (Pete Delange) - both mates of mine since childhood (there's a long story about Trackers as a nick-name!) got involved with Ford...who had the guts to put his money where few others would...and back these dinghy sailors. Trackers had a fresh vision of design based on his success in RC design (did alot of development with another mate - Craig Smith - a leader in RC sailing and boat dev.) Against plenty of bar-room criticism, the boat proved fast in all but the lightest air...but more importantly, it opened the eyes of what was a pretty conservative sailing community to what could be done. I'll talk with Tracksuit (his full title!) on the weekend and point him here....

I met Laurie Ford when he was doing the SSAA Trans Tasman race in 2001 (or 2?). He told me that he started racing in the CYCSA races two-handed against the wishes of the CYCSA. Eventually they gave in and allowed him to race.

Based on his experience I told the CYCA I would do the same - to which they replied - do that and we will ban you from the sport!

Certainly she was a one of a kind design! Interesting how her type of design is now more mainstream.

My mate pulled out of the Match purchase. It lacked the necessary doco for the keel.

Has it got any decent results or was the new hull a fail? They finished 2hrs ahead of us on a 35yr old timber boat in 2018 SH.
