Mate I love Vic. I honestly don't want you to go...
Except Melbourne. Melbourne can fuck off. Even Victorians hate Melbourne.
My trips to the city for pleasure have taken on an unpleasant tone.

Too much traffic, too many people, road works, public transport works etc

But it's still better than Adelaide.

Nah mate, You cant get lost in Adelaide, it's awesome. Adelaide chicks are top notch too.
Good beer as well. I'm in Melb as we speak, sucking down Coopers red like there's no tomorrow.

Still got me stuffed why so many people choose to live in the southern states. It's fucken weird,

Yep, we are doing a lot of much needed infrastructure stuff, but I too stay away from the city. I suspect it's an age related dislike.

Everywhere is better than Adelaide. Even Brisvagas.

A Queenslander, in Melbourne, in Winter, must feel like Bazza McKenzie's first trip to London :D You have my empathy.

I lived in Dublin 2 years and then Sweden 16 and Melbourne's weather is fantastic by comparisson.

Then there is daylight savings in summer, the late sunset on a good summers day (when lucky) are magical. Up here in Brisvegas it's rather depressing how early it gets dark in the evenings.

Then there is the plus for sailors, the Wednesday twilights gets so many yachts out racing on the top of the bay. Even the "time poor" can usually reserve the twilight evening in their calendar when other weekend bookings can interfere with racing.

LIKE THE FUCKEN EAST WEST LINK?
I was thinking of the tunnel under the bridge and the works on St Kilda rd near the shrine, Ever since Jeff K messed with the roads the signage has been fucked, I still miss the Airport turnoff and take a scenic trip to Geelong. I took me 5 hours to get to Castlemaine from Armadale a couple of years back. The again I suppose every fucking city ...

(except Athens :) )

I had to do Germany for work once, Rocked up in Zurich airport with shorts and a tee shirt, Was minus 15. They all laughed at me. Fucken dumb Australians they said. I didn't know cold.

The minus 15 was still better than Melbourne's positive 6 - 10 degree for some reason, wind?.

Nah, Melb is just a grey, miserable, nasty place.

I was surprised at how comfortable -10 was in Amsterdam on a sunny day.

Until the wind picked up on those canals and tore your face off.

The trouble with Melbourne is we don't really believe that we are cold.
5-16 degrees? meh, put a jumper on. until the wind starts sucking the heat from the gaps under the doors and around all our lovely diamond sash windows and the cracks between the floorboards of our originally carpeted but now sanded and polished, baltic pine floors :D

But the winter is usually too short to bother fixing these things because if you don't like the weather??
We all know the response.

That may be changing with the climate.
