Mothball the LCS
The destroyer named after one of the few competent Vietnam officers was cancelled since it was a lemon without a fancy gun
the new attack subs are behind schedule

MAC can’t evacuate Afghanistan
NORAD can’t intercept a balloon before it reaches Montana.

Instead of blaming presidents, we need to cut the budget yearly until they stop screwing up so bad. Clearly unlimited budgets just lead to unlimited waste.

Seriously. NORAD can track Santa Claus who moves much faster but not this thing?
If it was really a weather ballon China would have rung us and said sorry guys, one of ours got away and is coming towards you.
Plenty of open space out west to knock it down earlier without collateral damage on the ground all the electronics into salt water.
They were testing us and seeing what the speed abd competency of our reaction would be.
I think we failed.
Next week its weather balloons over Taiwan

I’m glad the missile worked on the first try. I didn’t want to be embarrassed further. At least the pilot gets to paint some cool art on his airplane.

USAF used to recover spy say film by using a C130 with a large Y shaped probe in front of it. I wonder if a pair of them could have captured the cargo with a long piece of line between them? Would be nice to know exactly what the balloon was doing
