Nicolas is only 46.
His resume includes The Treasury, Deputy commissioner of the French Financial regulators, Advisor to the prime minister, and Chairman of the largest bank cooperative in Europe. These are all stepping stones. He has about as much interest in being a life time banker as I have in being a pro golfer.
He is not looking to have misogyny listed on the resume under personal interests.
Someone somewhere is going to get hauled on the carpet. The traditional french corporate pastime of finding the scape goat is doubtless in full swing.

Clarisse CREMER gave birth in November 2022 to a baby girl. While nothing forced her to do so, she informed her sponsor Banque Populaire in February 2021 of her child project. They still chose Clarisse for this new Vendée Globe and communicated on their mutual commitment in the fall of 2021. In the
end, Banque Populaire decided to replace Clarisse. She will not be at the start of the Vendée Globe 2024.
He has 2 full seasons and 4 transatlantic races left to return to his best level. Everything was possible.
Instead of accompanying her in her admirable approach to motherhood, Banque Populaire prefers to sanction her by replacing her with another skipper, on the pretext that they "must be at the start of the Vendée Globe 2024".
A shame.
So let's act, let's show through this petition our support for Clarisse above all, but also let's show Banque Populaire that women have the right to be top athletes, that they have the right to live their maternity without being worried!

Laurent is NOT General Manager of Banque Populaire. He is Chairman and CEO of Wendel, a different company altogether. He left BCPE last year. Wrong person.
It just looks embarrassing and uninformed to petition the wrong person.
The CEO of BCPE is Nicolas Namias, The chairman of the supervisory board is Thierry Cahn.
