fwiw, from LOOKING AT THE SEA.- A handful of catetos, by Pedro Sardina - Plaza Magazine (valenciaplaza.com)

The bases will be separated and must be adapted to the needs of the teams because, except for the Italian one, which will be installed in the Grimaldi cruise base, the others will do so in abandoned buildings. The VIP village of Moll de la Fusta must be made whole and four badly placed tents are not worth it; you have to do something majestic so that the guests show off their palm heart, and the stand facing the sea, south of the Vela hotel with a large capacity of spectators, will cost a kidney. All at the expense of the host; that is, Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain.
This shows the Aquarium near the top (possible bases for ETNZ and Ineos) in relation to the Grimaldi area of operations, mentioned as LR's possible choice. So, spread out a bit.

me: I saw a rumor somewhere that said Alinghi apparently wants one of the bases in the shipyard - one of the farthest away points from ETNZ. Any ideas where that is? From a guess by me some time back, maybe this Alinghi base preference will be the location depicted farthest-left. If the rumors so far are true then from left to right (basically south to north) in red we'd have Alinghi, AM, LR, Ineos, ETNZ. If French-K happens, maybe the top yellow.

Your far right yellow is not in the correct spot.  It is to the left on that piece of land that shoots out from the city - apparently it is currently a big parking lot.  Currently there are only six bases - TNZ, Ineos, Alinghi, LR, AM & the French.  The middle yellow line does not exist as a base option.

Thanks, okay then that yellow base (depicted lower/closer in the perspective above) would shift to the left and rotate 90 deg, to be alongside that wharf. Yes, that is the Balearic (?) ferry terminal area (moving soon, apparently) so that would line up too. My top yellow line aft of the ship was a guess from some reference about where the Media Center might go, am guessing now it is not really in play given your hints and the long video above.

A cousin of mine is on a 20th wedding anniversary trip, now in BCN after Rome and she is posting pics including from the gondola ride over the Port. Looks nice, got me back onto this. They also attended what looked like an F1 event in BCN yesterday, so a bit of a tie-in there too :)

I honestly have no idea where the media center and other organization buildings are going.

Valencia should gift Barcelona A5 and conveniently park it on whatever land Alinghi get for their base just prior to them arriving...

Alinghi should actually put a deck on that platform and use it as a spectator booze boat.

Or trade it to Dalton for something, so he can then go create a monster hydrogen foiler.

Assuming it still floats.

Red bull have done some wacky stuff in the past. Putting this thing back together would be a big job but could get some real eyeballs. Obviously it wasn't designed to sit on the hard for 12 years, amazing nothing has been done with it.

It wasn't foiling, but this could make a fun hydrogen chase boat in the money is no object world

^ BA is shown in the Port of BCN in several shots. One is right by the aquarium, firming up my earlier forecast-guess about what base they want.

Surely they'll give INEOS the spot right near the entrance to the harbour. Less jetties and piers to hit from there.

Interesting that nobody has commented on the fact that the venue shopping began in May 2020, a full 10 months before AC 36 was sailed!

That is not what GD is claiming....  This catches him in an out right lie!

Also, they mention directly how GD had animosity towards the NZ Government and press about being challenged on their actions in the last cup.

This all reenforces the idea that Grant really wanted out of NZ and money was just used as an excuse.

Nailed it.

Again, given the amount of outwardly directed animosity prevalent in ETNZ over the years under the same leadership group of guys, it will amaze me if they don't get confrontational in Barcelona next. And the new 'enemies' they face there could create even more confrontational battles than what happened in what should have been friendly home-town territory.

This 'FNOB' entity in Barcelona mentioned above somewhere appears to be angling for playing a big role in the way things roll out in BCN; presumably that will include how the money gets spent..

I do hope things go smoothly but am a touch skeptical :)

Not sure what his bitching about continual bad press is about either. Seems he expected every move by the team to get smoke blown up his arse for being so amazing.

Getting happier by the hour that they have moved on. Not sure some of the Spanish power groups will be as accommodating as they seem to expect.
