Barcelona AC37

Nice stickers on Alinghi's AC75

Well that’s going to hurt Dalton’s wallet. He’s only going to make half as much on whatever drug deal he’s got cooked up. Or maybe they just doubled the price.
I am aware of one team, maybe a second team that are purchasing their HSV through a European company. Supposedly it meets all the specs required in the protocol and still uses the Toyota Hydrogen Power System.

From a few days ago

from there, bold mine

In the 2024 edition, a total of six teams will compete, each consisting of 300 people. One of them, the Swiss Alinghi Red Bull Racing, will be the first to arrive to start training.

AMERICA'S CUP 37 NEWS

As of last Night 00.00 NZST the Official Entry Period to challenge for AC37, which opened on December 1st 2021, has closed. It ran 8 Months from December 1st 2021 to July 31st 2022.

Will there be any new Teams?

Under Section 13.4 of the AC37 Protocol the defending Yacht Club Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and their Team Emirates Team New Zealand are required to publish a List of accepted Challengers as well as the Dates when they have challenged.

Late Entries can be accpeted through May 31st 2023.

HOWEVER for any Late Challenge who gets accepted by RNZYS after September 30th 2022 the Defender ETNZ/RNZYS must console the CoR RYS/INEOS Britannia.
That was primarily done to avoid the controversy that engulfed the Late Challengers for AC36 with the LBYC who was represented by Stars & Stripes Team USA withdrawing their Challenge just before the America's Cup World Series commenced in Auckland 2020.

What the Protocol says should happen is not always what actually happens. For example, looking at section 13.4, what does publish mean? Can they post it somewhere unlikely to be found? Probably.

Something like this

I expect something similar like this here. They have to publish the Order of Entry because that determines the Allocation of the AC40.
ETNZ gets the first one, INEOS the 2nd one BUT who gets the 3rd, 4th and 5th AC40? Nobody knows.

Saiweb article 19/12 last year announced Luna Rossa as the 4th Challenger for AC37 indicating American Magic were 5th.

If true, Team France (or other) would be 4th after Cor/d & alinghi to receive an AC40.

Looks like the order is
1 ETNZ
2 INEOS
3 Alinghi
4 Luna Rossa
5 American Magic
6 K-Challenge (if they make it)

There’s a chance BCN base choices and allocations were due on Aug 1, that could be some new news.
