More BS here but fwiw. Maybe these NZ articles about 'competition' are intended to try up the ante in Auckland? Somebody must be sending Stuff these links, it's not like they are wasting time googling for it themselves.

Spain's claims for America's Cup increase as Barcelona embraces bold bid - | Stuff.co.nz
Two massive Spanish bids, one pending bid from Ireland and a so called Jeddah bid.

Auckland is out the window. Not surprising given their 30mil bid.

Dalts will be spoilt for choice!

Looks like Dalts is gonna get what he wants after all.

No way, Valencia is a much better choice, not too expensive.
I am against spillage, do not over do what has been done before.
You get an epic headquarter for free instead of paying 100 millions for being in the most expensive outgoing town in Europe.
Unless you want that, Being most expensive is not the economical solution.

Laugh my ass off! The whole thing is FUBAR.

RNZYS is about to send a message to GD that they will not allow Jeddah as the venue. With GD getting his feet held to the fire on 2024, and no Spanish bids firmed up yet (just proposed outlines of some fantasy agreement), at this point GD has no choices besides Auckland
Fubar,

Fucked beyond reason, so try another city instead. Why not Bermuda?
Football or soccer as you call it, has stadiums that are almost holy; this one is the best.
Wembley. Queen, rockband, played there.

Verbal agreement for the Copa América 2024: Málaga, ruled out except for "disaster" in Barcelona

The pact is closed with the Catalan capital, but not signed yet. It will be signed in the next few days in an institutional act, Global Chronicle advances.

Verbal agreement , but not yet signed. Barcelona will host the 2024 America's Cup after the Emirates Team New Zealand, winner of the last edition, and the administrations involved have agreed to hold the sailing competition in the Catalan capital, according to Global Chronicle . The candidacy of Malaga , therefore, like those of Cork (Ireland) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) is out of the game.

The pact will be signed in the next few days , for which there is an institutional act even with the physical presence of the trophy. Thus, Barcelona will also keep the economic impact of the competition: about 1,000 million euros.

As sources from the nautical sector have informed the Global Chronicle, " a disaster would have to occur for it not to take place", since there is a commitment between the two parties. In addition, the Ciudad Condal has also collected the 70 million euros in necessary guarantees, thanks mainly to the contribution of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The Provincial Council, the Port Authority of the city and the Fira de Barcelona are also aligned with the project.

The economic agreement contemplates a total contribution of 75 million euros that would be managed through the future consortium that the parties agree to form. Of that amount, the administrations would contribute 45 million and a contribution of 30 million is expected through donations or private sponsorships.

"I cannot comment on the degree of strength of the candidacies; I know that ours is good," said De la Torre in reference to the others. The deadline established by the organization to definitively announce Barcelona as the venue is  March 31.

From that one,

Barcelona has polished up its infrastructures. The Port Authority will make available to the organizers some land located in the Nova Bocana area as the event's headquarters. Likewise, it is planned to use secondary ports such as Mataró for the teams to train. The city council has promised to facilitate it with the necessary permits, add executives from the sector.
