That doesn't necessarily give it any more validity. Nowadays they all steal from each other.

Time will tell
True but that guy Torrent who in charge of their version of MBIE went on the radio and basically announced it. Other articles also include direct quotes by the deputy mayor Collboni. It's a done deal unless (unlikely) it eventually gets unraveled by Auckland interests.

In the wild.
You guys have turned from haters into believers, unbelievable.

Anyway, one hears that Malaga have now doubled their bid to Euro 140 million, in cash and Qatar gold. Typical Sunshitter pimp deal, you know. Will make Pissie happy too.

New contracts are being made, but regrettably the signing wii have to be postponed by exactly 1 day, also to give Dumfuck and Gong Farmer time to lodge their Kangaroo Court case.

You heard it first on SA.

Signed, Tommy Spinray.

But, but, but Stingray said Auckland was the "only option" that any Spanish bids were "dead" that outside NZ no one cares about the AC, and no European country in their right mind would ever be prepared to throw money at the Americas Cup.

Wrong again.

Again, I hate to say I told you so, but...

I told you so.

This one says correctly 'one billion euros' and also includes these possibly-correct location specifics:

Barcelona will focus the attention of world sailing with the Copa America de Vela 2024 - El Canal Marítimo y Logístico (www-diarioelcanal-com.translate.goog)

The approach of the city of Barcelona for the 37th America's Cup of Sailing, focuses on carrying out all the activities in Port Vell, distributing the equipment in different areas that, in addition, meet all the technical requirements. Likewise, the Port Olimpic or the Port Fòrum are also incorporated to host one of the great novelties of the Copa América 2024, and that is that, for the first time, there will be a women's and a youth edition of the regatta.

Although a lot closer to the truth than the billions that GD pushes.
So you're prepared to admit you were wrong about outside NZ no one cares about the cup?

You were wrong about European venues not being prepared to throw cash at the AC?

And you were wrong that Dalts wouldn't get any off shore money?

Dalts, the ultimate fundraiser.
Really? Even though the articles on Barcelona say that what they are offering is less than GD said was the minimum he needed, and less than you were certain they would get get?

And before you spout the latest excuse (i.e. Ukraine) let me remind you that the IMF is still forecasting that the world economy will grow this year by 2.6%

Ben of course had his money in place months ago. More than GD seems to have got. And without the carrot of hosting. For that matter so did the Italians; Swiss and yanks.

So ultimate?

In what way is it less than what he wants.

Dalts was asking for 120 million dollars.

He got that from both Malaga and Barcelona.

It actually says 72 million EURO (not dollars) which is 114million dollars, and thats a "guarantee" payment. Not the total offer.
I said E70m dickhead. NOT dollars. Do try reading dickhead

One of the complicated points of the negotiation has been trying to get the 70 million guarantees necessary to host the world regatta. 25 million could be captured from private business contributions and the rest would be contributed from the public administrations that have participated in the negotiation. In this sense, the administrations will contribute 10 million in this first half of 2022, 20 million in January 2023 and 10 million in October 2023, conditioned and reimbursable if a certain volume of income is achieved for the event. The direct contribution from the City Council – which gives five million euros each year to Mobile – will not exceed 10 million euros.
70.

And like I said that assumes that private get the E25m - because that is a "could".

Where is the other made up 2 coming from? (which would still leave you NZ $6m (DOLLARS) below the minimum GD said he needed

So still less than the Auckland bid.

“The television viewing and audience of this competition is only behind sporting events such as the Olympic Games and the World Cup.”

Crikey if the Spanish swallowed that old chestnut they are far greater fools than I would have initially given them credit for being.

One wonders what they'll all bitch about next. Who knows, maybe the Rule will get a lashing? Ha, ha.

It is a solid fact that hardly anyone outside NZ cares about the AC. I would get more interest in my local if I started talking about Welly throwing.

I am surprised that any European venue has offered this much cash, but was right that it's not as much as GD wanted (the "minimum" he said he needed)
