I am no audiophile, but the sound much better than anything I have ever had and sound bleed is non existant. Kid loves them...... Got ours at best buy but that was because we did not think ahead last bday and could not wait for shipping. It is a pretty established product so you should be good most places.

Shaggy has it right. Just find the best deal you can in the moment. A few different stars aligned when I was in your position a few months ago, and Target happened to have the best deal of the moment.

Amazon has always been pretty good for me as a first place to check and compare other sources. Its rarely more expensive, often exactly the same, occasionally less expensive, and on rare occasion........very much less!!

I use Bose over the ear and love them.

If he wants them....for whatever reason then what the heck. Sound quality is probably not his primary concern...if you know what I mean. I say get him what he wants.

I know what you mean.

My HS senior daughter wanted white Dres for Christmas. I asked if she wanted a good set of headphones with decent sound. Her response was, "No, I want the white Dres."

Just went this route with 11 year old daughter. Interesting to see how branded these kids are for only dre's. Nothing else interests them. Best pricing then was at bestbuy.
