Biden Gun Control

If someone chooses not to invade my home because he's pretty sure I have a battlefield .22 and a dog to wake me, does that count as a crime prevented by an assault weapon?

And how, exactly, do we count it?
Just count every time somebody committing a crime was stopped by an AR in the hands of a citizen. About the only time I've ever heard of was that kid in a riot who damn near blew the perp's arm off.

I would like to meet a thief who decided to rob somebody because they only had a shotgun and not an AR, but I doubt one exists.

You can get 30 and 40rd magazines for the mini, but they ship with 20s or 10s. It was an obsolete rifle design when it was first introduced, is more expensive to manufacture, isn't modular, never sold nearly as well as any ar15s, etc. There's a point to be made about regulating technology rather than aesthetics, but there's also a point to be made about what's really being fetishized here.

Prevented is different from "stopped" and a whole lot less risky.

Why are you focused on one model? Given the political push here is to ban battlefield .22's and other assault weapons, wouldn't your question be better raised about all assault weapons, not just a tiny fraction of them?

And what is your point anyway? The fact that you haven't heard of defensive gun uses could just mean you're really good at protecting the integrity of your information bubble.

And what's the new point about shotguns? Some of them are battlefield weapons and subject to DiFi's "assault weapon" ban. Are you talking about shotguns that are assault weapons or just regular shotguns?

Possibly related, what do you think of the Bloomberg-$pon$ored US Marine Colonel who said that a single .223 round can cut a person in half. Did they teach you that in the Marines? Or teach you to tolerate that kind of BS?

A single round is capable of severing the upper body from the lower body, or decapitation.

Justice is served motherfuckas

Turner suffered from panic-attack induced chest pains, brought on by the shooting, and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

This is not really something to celebrate.

15~ish years ago, we had an acquaintance who had a similar attitude and wanted to cruise thru the Canadian side of the Great Lakes. When he arrived (Kinston iirc) he had some shotgun shells in his nav drawer when he pulled it open to get the ship's papers. They said "Do you have any firearms?" and he went on a loud angry rant about his rights.

They disassembled the boat at the dock, including taking the heads off the engine.

He did not have any guns aboard, the shotgun shells were remnants of a "hunting trip" he'd taken some buddies on months/years earlier. He just picked a bad audience for his 2nd Amendment Asshole act. He had to have the boat towed back across the lake.
