Ever wonder how so many sociopathic crooks get their hands on guns? Maybe if the USA didn't have hundreds of millions of them rummaging around every fucking where?
Maybe if we didn’t coddle miscreants from elementary school on when they encounter the legal system and are revolving doored back into society…
I am fine with 2 and 3 chances depending upon the circumstances however if the offender has no social redeeming qualities or progress sadly we need to turn the pages of history books back and take up where they left off.

Why are Canadian border guards enforcing the laws of their country "idiots"?

You seem to be very big on enforcing laws, some times.
Canadian idiots for going to the extreme of taking the heads off the engine and generally trashing his boat, if your story is even true

How about if they'd done what USAnian cops would have done, assumed he was armed and just shot him.

It's their country. He wasn't even an invited guest. I was not present but heard this story from about ten people who were including the Canadian dockmaster. We've gone to Canada many times including by boat, never had the slightest problem and never encountered anything but polite professionalism from Canadian border police. Of course, I don't even joke about guns (or bombs or drugs or Mexicans etc etc) to police.

That boat owner and his wife were friends of friends, we knew them fairly well... too well, I thought they were both jerks. I can easily picture the man ranting and stomping and refusing to back down from "his rights" to Canadian cops (hey dumbass, you're in a foreign country).

You're totally wrong, and stupidly so.

Again.

I can only imagine the distortion and exaggeration…. a friend of a friend of a friend, heard it on the dock
Keep on keeping on with your mental

Did you miss the part where I said "we knew them fairly well"?? They stayed at our home marina for months.

I know you're not a good reader, perhaps I should type slower.

Prevented is different from "stopped" and a whole lot less risky.

Why are you focused on one model? Given the political push here is to ban battlefield .22's and other assault weapons, wouldn't your question be better raised about all assault weapons, not just a tiny fraction of them?

And what is your point anyway? The fact that you haven't heard of defensive gun uses could just mean you're really good at protecting the integrity of your information bubble.

And what's the new point about shotguns? Some of them are battlefield weapons and subject to DiFi's "assault weapon" ban. Are you talking about shotguns that are assault weapons or just regular shotguns?

Possibly related, what do you think of the Bloomberg-$pon$ored US Marine Colonel who said that a single .223 round can cut a person in half. Did they teach you that in the Marines? Or teach you to tolerate that kind of BS?

A single round is capable of severing the upper body from the lower body, or decapitation.
Because it's a weapon highly structured for killing a lot of people in the least amount of time. Surely, someone who knows about guns can grasp that.

That is quite a leap, 25 million AR-15’s and twice that number of similar looking along with countless standard looking hunting rifles, shotgun guns and gazahbillion pistols in the hands of law abiding citizens not killing people.

So are battlefield .22's.

But let me ask again, what you think of this from a US Marine Colonel who should know a lot about guns and has volunteered the following as "expert" testimony in an "assault" weapons ban case:

A single round is capable of severing the upper body from the lower body, or decapitation.

As a person who is not an idiot and knows a thing or two about guns, do you have an opinion on that "expert" sworn statement about what a single .223 round can do?

Not in the least bit relevant. I see the goalposts have put on dancing shoes, which I know means the point has been understood.

I already noted when you moved the goalposts from "preventing" crimes to "stopping" ones that are in progress. Why bring it up again?

Now you've moved on to talk about a battlefield .22 or an AR as "a weapon highly structured for killing a lot of people in the least amount of time."

Well, one that could cut a person in half with a single round would be such a weapon, if it existed, wouldn't it? That sworn testimony was offered as support for why assault weapons are being boughtback without compensation in California.

What could be more relevant to your point about suitable militia weapons that are "highly structured for killing a lot of people in the least amount of time?"

Let's review.

Since you're interested in the awesome power of this round, let's examine expert testimony in the California "assault" weapons ban case.

A single round is capable of severing the upper body from the lower body, or decapitation.

What do you think? I said what I think in the relevant thread and mentioned it here. I think Bloomberg must have paid a LOT to get a US Marine Colonel to say something so obviously idiotic.

Probably a heck of a lot more than 25 million assault weapons out here. Heck, we've got several battlefield .22's just in one household.

"bought back without compensation"? Silly.
