It's their country. He wasn't even an invited guest. I was not present but heard this story from about ten people who were including the Canadian dockmaster. We've gone to Canada many times including by boat, never had the slightest problem and never encountered anything but polite professionalism from Canadian border police. Of course, I don't even joke about guns (or bombs or drugs or Mexicans etc etc) to police.

Why are you focused on one model? Given the political push here is to ban battlefield .22's and other assault weapons, wouldn't your question be better raised about all assault weapons, not just a tiny fraction of them?

And what is your point anyway? The fact that you haven't heard of defensive gun uses could just mean you're really good at protecting the integrity of your information bubble.
