MC38's..?

The naming/sail numbers suggest Beck owns or at least sponsors 5 MC38’s

There is a Indy Beck. Maybe Christian’s kids?

Creating a sailing dynasty?

A little more than 4 times from what I have subsequently heard.

That 350k share implies the boat is now worth $1.05m

You'd pretty much want to see about $1m in receipts for sails and other upgrades to consider it a reasonable ask.
A bit of a small con going on here..! A bit like buying a retired race horse with the thought of racing the horse again but the costs of getting the horse in shape and back onto the track are too much for one or 2 owners.! So let's look for another owner. You'd be far better off buying a Volvo 70 as used sails are available etc and running costs way less and I'm tipping a V70 would beat this to Hobart..!

Peter does own it as far as I understand.

He just has it registered in an overseas tax haven so it's a foreign flagged vessel.

If he registered it here as an Australian flagged vessel he would have to pay import duties and GST and that would cost him 1-2 million dollars and then he couldn't claim the GST back like he does now.

Just noticed it seems to now be an Australian registered vessel, back at RQYS according to the RSHYR website, https://rolexsydneyhobart.com/the-yachts/2022/black-jack/

It was definitely Monaco last year https://rolexsydneyhobart.com/the-yachts/2021/black-jack/

Flippin Out,

Just because it is an Australian Club now RQYS, Doesn't mean it is not still an overseas registered boat still.

The Tax benefits for the boat being an Overseas registered vessel far outlays changing the boat to an Australian registered vessel.

Just to do that will cost Peter Millions of $$$$$$ to be payed to the Australian Government in import duties, Sales tax and GST

Why give the Government free money for little benefit to yourself ?
