Backstay, never bought a suit, never went to Vegas
I could still do bow, but choose not to. It's the overhead spin pole stuff in windy conditions that wrecked my shoulder, so I don't do that any more. But I'm no spring chicken, anyway; so it's no big deal.they keep telling me that. but I refuse to consider limiting myslef. That is, of course, until i get it done and see what hell I am in.I'm missing this year. Getting my rotator cuff done in a couple weeks, and can't risk what's left of it. Did full crew last year -- but was going back to DH this year till the shoulder exploded. ABI is the definition of a perfect DH.
Did my rotator cuff last July; make sure you really dedicate yourself to the physical therapy. I'm permamently retired from the bow now, and not missing it one bit. Middle spot on the Etchells is much easier and trimming on bigger boats.
Best of luck with your surgery and PT! It takes 12 months to get back 90% of your strength and usefulness, not the 6-9 months the surgeon will tell you.
