Boat ramp for launching in Annapolis?

I'll be racing my boat in Annapolis in May. It's a ramp launch as I have a swing keel. Is there a ramp that provides access to AYC? I'm seeing some ramps but they all seem to require going under bridges to get out to the bay.

You should call the yacht club

AYC or Severn Sailing

many boats sailing off trailers in Annapolis

the clubs will know

Your best bet is Truxton Park, public launch, you can pay per use.  See the following link.

It is rare that the clubs will permit you to launch from their space without membership sponsorship (member on the boat).  Sometimes they publicly announce the support and do it, but unusually you need someone from the club to claim they are on your boat.  None of the clubs in Annapolis have ramps.

AYC has a hoist across the creek from the main clubhouse.  If your boat is light enough and you have a hoist bridle, you might drop it in there.  Give AYC a call.

@bgytrI did, maybe I had bad luck with someone new but they didn't know about the NOODs (Helly Hanson Regatta now) and couldn't make suggestions on where to put my boat in and keep it for the weekend

You need to find the person at AYC who does know about the regatta.

I would recommend talking to sailing world first ([email protected]) to get their contact person at AYC, and then talk to whoever that is.

You are not the only person who has to think about this, and typically someone at the host club has figured out a plan of some sort.

@Wavedancer II I took a look at Sandy Point, it may be what we use but it appears to be about 6 miles to AYC. We've got to pull the boat, de-rig, and pack it up so I can drive back to Boston that evening. It's about 2 hours to de-rig. I have to assume a bunch of boats will be trying to get out of the water after the regatta and the single ramp at Truxton might be a lot of waiting.

You could keep the boat at Jabins for the regatta, on Back Creek.  Actually closer to the race venue than Spa Creek.

And the link in the Google link had answers to your questions if you opened it.

It has TWO ramps, plenty of space, you will need to find storage for the trailer.  Go to Jabins, you can't be bothered to do some leg work. They will make sure you are taken care of.

I agree with Bert Jabins and the free launch you linked - see picture which looks like the same location: image.png
