Seems this thread is another where dog likes to talk about people...
FTFY, because you forgot to emphasize 'strongly' in your interpretation of the cited material. Of course, the authors didn't think there was a strong suggestion...Post 249
Dog 2.0: So ... the admittedly anecdotal accounts strongly suggest that there is a social, (social contagion) and/or peer (peer contagion) component to transsexualism at least for the young. It is also curious that the condition occurs most often in predominately white, upper-class communities.
Read it again, there actually are indicators of causality which is why the authors believe further study is warranted.Nothing in this anecdotal sampling of parents indicates causality.
The authors hypothesize that maybe causal relationships could be established between factors mentioned by parents (peer groups, social media or conflict between children and parents) but they provide no evidence of causality.
An equally likely scenario is that transgender kids gravitate towards accepting peers, seek out info on the internet, and judgmental parents who disapprove of their children's mindset create conflict with their kids.
But, I think we agree that you've not supplied any evidence to support your theory.
So can we get back to laughing at you now, assuming that's the best you can do?
You don't know that, they felt strongly enough about it to write the report.FTFY, because you forgot to emphasize 'strongly' in your interpretation of the cited material. Of course, the authors didn't think there was a strong suggestion...
Dude. It's a plea for funding, which it might get from reich wing supporters of an agenda, but there is nothing substantive about making wild theories based on weak data. Its just more culture war.Read it again, there actually are indicators of causality which is why the authors believe further study is warranted.
Even if true the indicators of causality exist.Dude. It's a plea for funding, which it might get from reich wing supporters of an agenda, but there is nothing substantive about making wild theories based on weak data. Its just more culture war.
Hee hee! I love that you think you understand social research papers! Please play again![]()

The study wasn’t powered or designed to determine causality. Your can impose your dogma on this study, but that’s not science, just your culture war.Even if true the indicators of causality exist.

Its your usual baseless accusation shtick applied to reading a pseudo-scientific paper.
This was a survey of parents. That’s it. Reading conclusions into it proves you’ll never be considered smart outside your ideological bubble, just as I told you the other day.
Next you will be drawing conclusions that playing in the NFL increases your chances of being a rapist.Even if true the indicators of causality exist.
They let dolts be architects? You don't know that, they felt strongly enough about it to write the report.
Four girls practice with a popular transgender coach and all four come out as transgender themselves. What are the chances that all four girls are members of .03% of the population?
Yes, strongly suggests.
Apparently.They let dolts be architects?
They let them be Presidents! They let dolts be architects?
Behind every shitty strip mall there is an architect, probably a dog too. They let dolts be architects?
