Bow roller on a 150mm Xbeam

Looking for some ideas on a new chain roller. Catamaran. It would sit on a 150mm dia xbeam. offset to Starbd to line up with the winch. The old one was pretty awful, basically a lump of wood that had been 'shaped' to fit the curve of the Beam and a few bits of AL to strap it on and hold it in place. It was pretty disreputable. And threatening to fall to bits. A frame wasn't much better. Certain amt of 'Heath Robinson' was on the boat.
Best I can think of is a piece of Nylon to fit the curve with a pivoting double chain roller fitted over it, probably, but I dont have a clear picture of it in my head. Appreciate some ideas/ images. Heres a pic of what was on there.

Thanks. Agreed, not a good foto, only one I could find - inherited from PO. Perhaps 5 y.o. The tense was important : 'what was there'. Ditto the A frame.

Really after examples of attaching a chain roller to a round beam.

Curved aluminum plate that matches the curvature of the cross beam. Two vertical plates welded to it that holds the bow roller. Whole assembly machine screwed or riveted to the beam (not welded please)

Yes have been thinking of this route, have an off cut of the sleeve that was made for my replacement A frame that such cheeks would or could be attached to. A 'box' to sit inside this with 2 rollers, pivoting on a bolt. Thanks for your input.

Yup me too. Fun is the objective.
Easiest and most cost effective is finding something off the shelf or used. Weld some tabs with holes and bolt er in.

Just a welded "U" shape with lots of mechanical fastenings. Takes a lot of side load.

EDIT: Just make sure you have your roller(s) picked out in advance before you make the U shape. We've had trouble going through rollers fast as we anchor a lot, and we couldn't find stock Delrin rollers. We eventually bought some 4" delrin rod and had a machine shop make what we wanted.

Bad pic, but I think I have what @Zonker describes. look at far right. The cheeks hold a roller between them

This looks good, but the 'far right' isn't there! I understand what you say about the rollers, CapDave I was just about to see what I could get. I have a solid cylinder of what might be delrin or similar. V tough, been using it for a drift.
