Leo thats exactly how ferries work in Le Havre, Caen, Dieppe, St Malo etc. All customs done on arrival. maybe Dover ..... bla.bla.bla
Jambo, again a very asinine comment coming from you.

Portsmouth to Caen : 2 sailings daily
Portsmouth to Bilbao : 2 crossings weekly
Portmouth to Cherbourg : 1 crossing weekly
Portsmouth to Le Havre : 5 sailings weekly
Portsmouth to St Malo : 5 crossings weekly
Newhaven Dieppe : 3 sailings a day.

In peak season Dover to Continent : over 50 ferries a day

Oooooh oooohhh my friends didn't have to wait on the Portsmouth-Caen or Newhaven-Dieppe ferry routes. No off course not. 25 trucks, 40 cars and a donkey per sailing FFS :ROFLMAO:

I am all for it, close French Dover booths.
Talk about a bit of Brexit hysteria coming onto the thread, we are now all communist sympathisers and close off the borders from the invaders.

Actually the French seem to manage to close the border on a regular basis already so nothing new there, but likened to communists, thats a tad hysterical to say the least Panoramix.

Laser1 you must work in the French civil service or a very heavy unionised industry in France, have you ever heard of the basic rule of a successful business, supply and demand ?

Don't annoy your biggest customer.
As the EU had the highest ever deficit of trade, isn't that a bit tongue in cheek.

Bit like Brexiteers then, they won and have gotten on with life since. Seems its only the Remoaners who still are all bitter and twisted, perhaps they too should just shrug their shoulders and get on with life.
Increasing numbers of Brexit voters aren't getting on with life Wayne, increasing numbers are starting to ask where all the things that the leave campaign promised them are... Latest poll suggests "right to leave" down to 32%.

Hmmm not quite. The majority are bitching why their passport has to be stamped on their cheap booze cruise with the bus to Calais or kicking off in Tesco because the veg isle is empty or standing huffin & puffing in a queue a mile long on their way back from Torremolinos.

Not seen any of that sort of thing, you've been reading the Guardian too much.

Even my cycling mates who were largely Remainers are no longer Remoaners and travelling quite freely through Europe. They have a whinge and moan occassionaly but then as soon as they are reminded of just how much they would have to contribute towards the EU's bar bill since Covid, they just buy another pint and toast their good fortune. Pragmatism is a great thing when one has to dip into your pockets to pay for another mans pint who you don't know.

Didn't LeoV say Statista statistics were totally worthless, lol.

Yes my point EXACTLY. French customs are dramatically understaffed on the Dover/Calais route
