Brexit WTF, WTF

Yeah, yeah, keep on spouting half truths and lies mate.  You may impress yer mates in the pub but this sandpit is a bit bigger..

The MAC found there was some evidence that immigration depressed the wages of lower-skilled workers while inflating those of higher-skilled workers, but added that the impact was generally small.

When it talks about a small impact, it looked at the period from 1993 to 2017, over which time average earnings for the lowest-paid rose by 55%. Using economic modelling, they estimated that - if there hadn't been European migration into the UK - that rise would have been around 5% higher.
Seems something about the number of low paid jobs might be finally coming into focus since 2017. Unless of course Laser1 condones low paid employment.

It is so quiet in the UK press is they are waiving white flags (Fish and NI).

But this is brilliant....

As for the suggestion that the US and rest of the world is mourning Brexit or punishing the UK for it, that's most reminiscent of teenage paranoia about how the world and particularly your parents are uniquely against you. Not exactly screaming self-confident nation.

In Jan, full customs checks in the UK, a year after the EU implemented them without a fuss. Agile Global Britain not proving to be a fact on the ground. Let's see how well prepared they are.

To busy to worry about Bidens political rather than business rhetoric re the UK. With record employment and with 1.22M vacancies who needs to worry in the short term. We might see some business's actually training staff and paying high enough wages to hold on to them, such is the vacancy level rather than simply going to the EU labour pool of unemployed.

Answered in part;
EXCLUSIVE: Brexit Minister Lord Frost has resigned from Boris Johnson’s Cabinet over the ‘political direction of his Government’. Full details in tomorrow’s Mail on Sunday.
Frost is hoping to escape from the big Northern Ireland Brexit hole he has dug for himself. Best to let the Lord peter out in the House of Lords, but he will probably first try to topple his buddy Boris.

More consideration here, with apologies for the link to sky:

Gone after 2.5 years and just two weeks before the new UK border controls will have to be working smoothly.
Perfect timing. Off to the House of Lords for the rest of his life.

So who will replace him, will be interesting who BJ comes up with.

Another rat leaving the sinking ship.
You guys have such a short time frame span of thought that you can only see what you want to see and not the big picture.

Barnier thought the only way to become Frances President was to reinvent himself as a centre right wing hero who suddenly went from France being the centre of the EU and the EU was the Holy Grail, to wanting to put up border controls and immigration controls, all to gain popularity as a candidate. As with all these faux politicians the electorate saw through him and biffed him out in the early candidate selection process. Not a peep from you.

Frost however is your put up villian and here you go, whining like the curs you are. Have you thought ever that Frost might be an ambitious man and to be tied up in some faux negotiation, that neither side will ever settle, is the last thing he personally wants. The EU started off seeing NI as a land grab and a victory over the Brits, Boris sees it as a perfect way to disentangle NI from the UK and put the bar bill of NI's chip on their shoulder, firmly on the EU's tab. The EU suddenly is looking like having to do exactly that contrary to their original plan, to use NI as their pincer movement and with no need to pay the bar tab.  This is a stand off that neither side wants to win and thus will last into the next decade.

The Boss asks for Frost's commitment to follow the faux line, he can't do it as he will look like a mug for anything he does in the future. So what does he do, pick a political line that the media and the dummies like yourselves will follow with almost an evangelical obedience. Mix into the cauldron a bit of Covid powder, a bit of Boris dust, a threatened resignation letter strategically leaked to the press and "Voila" Frost is away and dancing, whilst the muggins like yourselves are all too busy thinking they have a Boris fail scoop.

Essential requirements:
1.No understanding of how EU works
2.Ability to take 1 step forward & 2 back
3.Views international law as optional
4.Willingness to be thrown under bus by PM.

So it is Truss ...

Frost never had to face the voters, hence why he could take on Brexit ministerial duties. Not sure an elected politician should risk their career on this fools errand, though Johnson could find a few stupid enough to try.
