Wow, what a great thread.
The good the bad and the ugly fully on display.
Well done dreamers all, where would we be without you.
Certainly not Hawaii, way too ridiculous a place to contemplate from Europe..........

Chris Welsh was one of the partners in the project and it was supposedly delivered to his yard. However, Chris unexpectedly died in March, so that may be why things are on hold. There was a thread about his death on the forums.

Harder than clicking a link?
Iol. and speaking of doing your own research, I just learned something new - google maps drive-by feature works on waterways, who knew? it looks like old footage though:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.9215712,-122.3714949,2a,75y,190.46h,78.89t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sYX2TPEy5LXWUsoQ_BkLmFg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en

I had a gander at that wharf the other day - its across the "street" from Svendsens - full of boats, some prettier (and more interesting) than others..

I made the mistake of thinking Hydroptere looked (to me) like a soulless contraption of inelegant structure - hard to even glimpse the boat beneath it all - and definitely not art. but I have been forcefully disabused of this notion - so my guess is: nostalgia. and it seems real.
