With about 32% of California’s 164,000+ square miles being forested (about 52,000 square miles), they better get raking.
Of course, that guy also suggested diverting hurricanes with nuclear bombs, so YMMV.

What are you talking about? Every fucking road near a forest in California has had the trees cut back and the grass mowed a couple hundred feet back so dipshits like you that want their freedom to throw their fags out the window don't burn it all down. Loggers are fucking going 24/7 slashing, burning and throwing undergrowth in the chippers. Maybe get out a bit more.

The vast proportion of California's forests are on Federally-owned land. The California Forest Service has no authority to go in there and rake anything.

Yosemite Nat'l Park has had to fight for years to be able to thin out the forests on the valley floor. Some areas were (are) so congested you cannot walk thru the scrub trees. The tree hugger fanatics have been fighting any attempt at thinning for years. Thankfully, it's now moving ahead slowly

I've been saying for decades that we should bring back the WPA and the CCC. But no one seems interested in putting capable people on the govt. payroll to do the things that we pay too much to private contractors to not do.
We have how many people on the dole who live in tents in cities? We have how many immigrants looking for work? We have how much infrastructure work that requires very little advanced education, and can be done by anyone with half a brain and a half decent back? Yeah, LOTS!
This country's highways were not built by M.I.T. graduates. The bridges, and sidewalks, and street lamps were not built by engineers and mathematicians. They were built by Spics, WOPS, Micks, and Jerrys, they were built by people who came here looking for something better than they had. The railroads were built by Chinks and Japs, the vineyards were planted and harvested by Beaners. Now the problem is we have no one who will do the work? BS! We have millions who will, if we let them in, like our grand parents were let in.
