Nope. Canada is not a country divided by right/left ideology, aside from a tiny minority on the lunatic fringes on both sides. Our right wing folks also believe in the social safety net. We just argue about how much money should be spent on it and whether the providers should be public or private.
When violence like this happens we are all truly shocked by it. It is not commonplace.
