Oh yeah facts. While the land border was closed to travel until Oct 2021,

The target in 2020 was 341,000 – but, because of the pandemic, only 185,000 new permanent residence visas were granted.

Canada did succeed at hitting its immigration target for 2021. That December, the government announced it had admitted more than 401,000 new permanent residents, the highest annual number on record.

Stagnant economy that never recovered from 2008, another record year of 'new Canadians' is expected in 2022. That will be 1Mil immigrants over three years.

That is insane. Not crazy. Insane. Welcome to the New Canuckistan.

Frankly, your grandkids deserve what you left them.

How did Edmonton end up with that pile of silver balls on the side of the highway? It's one of my favorite terrible public art installations.

Wet coast.
It seems like in Canada, it's the police who suffer from citizen brutality.
It is apparently a more even match than for our friends south of the border. Police here are held to account more often, but not always. We have, for example, the RCMP C-IRG division which frequently uses excessive force and illegal/questionable tactics to ensure pipelines get built, old-growth forests are clearcut, and companies make profits. They don't seem to be accountable to anyone.

In general, though, the public has high regard for our police services.

I don't have as high regard as I used to. Just too many examples of police not behaving as they should.

The Moncton shooting really shocked me. Moncton is so chill and genteel, compared to sometimes nasty Halifax/Darmouth. That there are malevolent weirdos in Nova Scotia-not a surprise to me at all. The Moncton shooter had legal guns, it's just a fact. The Nova Scotia maniac had guns that never should have been in Canada.

It was a gun show in Maine where he got his AR-15 by way of a straw buyer. Actual gun stores in the US are probably not so careless about paperwork, which is not to say that is all good. It's just that gun shows in the US seem to be document free.

Your comment doesn’t make sense. If your example bought a gun in the parking lot that is not a straw buyer.
You can’t buy a gun at a gun show and walk out with it without a background check and the following waiting period.
The straw man buy has no advantage at a gun show. You have to show ID that matches the gun purchase when picking up.
Perhaps you should give a bit more description to your story.

Thats interesting. I had two friends, a Kiwi and an Irishman, do just that at a gun show just north of Seattle a few years back......
