Both? How about not capable of doing either one

Canada is the poster child for fervently hoping we didn't need a military anymore other than for SAR,

, no offense intended,
BUT
? does this give a "pause for thought" both nationally and personally ?

Personally I pay my taxes and vote, and then occasionally vent about how poorly equipped our troops are.
National decisions are above my pay grade.

Canada has always had a policy of buying as little as possible as late as possible, with a focus on making sure the money is kept in the country and spent in the vote sensitive ridings.

After 11 years of analysis a contract was just signed to buy 8,000 pistols since the stockpile of Browning 9mm weapons and parts bought in WWII has been depleted.

Now we understand where you get your material. If your critical thinking skills are so weak that you can't discern sensationalist opinion pieces from accurate reporting, there is no hope for you. That piece is just one tiny step above National Enquirer drivel.

My father used MAID this year to end his life. Had it not been available, he would have had a prolonged and very uncomfortable death. He knew this and chose the best option. The safety protocols in place for MAID, which I observed first hand, are solid.

We are working on ways to enable people to access this program if they become mentally unable to make an informed choice at the end - Alzheimers, for example. It will be interesting to see where that goes. Personally, I hope they get there, rotting away in an Alzheimers ward is not anything I would want for anyone or their families.

It isn't about saving money for the medical system - it about quality of life, and death.

If you expect anything except fascist drivel from 3V you're sadly mistaken.
I'm glad your father had the option.

The whole CSIS to ISIS human trafficking thing dropped out of sight very quickly. Actually; I think the Dominion should bring back all its own citizens from Kurdistan. This is because I think it is unfair to the Pemsherga to be their jailors, executioners, babysitters, whatever they do, in perpetuity.
