Maybe, but the fundamental problem is that we have not given up on creating teachers, carpenters, engineers, airline pilots, etc.-right here in Canada. With doctors, the rest of the world is needed to supply Canada. Yeah, I hope the good investment in medical education in Alberta is kept up by Danielle Smith.

I agree with you, and think there should be more in-Canada training available. My entire family used to work at a teaching hospital; my mother probably trained half the budding cardiologists at the time. I lost count of the number of ECG's I had, since I was a handy "patient".

There's nothing woke about wearing blackface, or cultural appropriation. Seriously, the guy dressed up like a Hindu groom to visit India. In any case, if Singh is serious about not supplying confidence-then maybe his time in politics is up. However, Singh is even more useless than Trudeau.

No resignation, I guess ethics are no longer expected of cabinet ministers.

The federal Liberals are constantly tripping themselves up with scandals like this. It is a Canadian tradition. We boot them out occasionally when they do something completely outrageous, only to be even more appalled by the policies of the Conservatives. Rinse and repeat.

They are called "Canada's Natural Governing Party" for nothing.

Expecting ethics from politicians is quaint.

That said, the incidents listed are so paltry they are less than petty cash.

Those incidents were so petty that tendering them would have cost more than simply issuing them.
Yeah, surprising they even came up. I seem to recall from my days in the engineering company that the gov't is allowed to award sole-source contracts up to a certain value. We did a bunch of small research projects for them on sole-source contracts. The $$$ in the contracts were never of any consequence - the intelligence and relationships we acquired doing the contracts were invaluable.
