Captains Compass Charter BVI Review

BEWARE!  Captains Compass Charters, Brent Fennel, Owner

Just returned from the BVI on a charter of a sail cat from Captains Compass.  This is a small charter company, (3 sail cats available), owned by Brent Fennel.  

His prices were good, but that is all.  He is an arrogant, hotheaded, unpleasant person to deal with.  The boat we chartered had several safety issues and others that should have been resolved before ever allowing it to be released as a bareboat charter.

The old adage, "you get what you pay for" is true with this company.

Avoid this company and individual.  There are much better choices.

Thanks for the info. Slander is one thing, but libel is when you write it and produce it. He could possibly sue you for libel if he hears that you’ve written that and are not doing so anonymously.

We chartered the sister ship of stargazer, smolemaker, On 11/21 prob the first charter after bvi opened from Covid. A few minor glitches which Brent addressed asap by meeting us The glitches prob should been ironed out before we departed by a test run but we d do it again

Here's my follow up. Returned 1 st weeek February 2023 from 8 nights 7 days aboard Star Gazer. Boat was good, a little doggish under motor for my liking, but good 3.5 out of 5 stars. Most everything worked as supposed to, absolutely NO issues. As far as Captain Brent, I feel he is a qualified Sailor who knows his craft and crafts. He was nothing more than pleasant, helpful, and gracious in everyway. He answered all of our questions directly with no hesitation. During our cruise he even sent me a severe weather update to be assured our family would be safe. That shows he still has concern for crew, passengers and vessel, long after you leave the dock. I think he can read people very well and he will give you the trust and respect that you project to him. I will definately consider him for another charter, and possibly putting in a boat under his charter command. Thank You CC and captain Brent. Cheers and Fair Winds.

Just saying…

Any lawyer that sues someone for libel based on the above statement (the OP) should be personally sanctioned, and potentially investigated by their state bar licensing authority for filing frivolous litigation.
